A quick and child-friendly hair style

Here are is an afro puff style that my daughter wore during the summer.  She has a very tight coil and her hair can easiily get dry.  To achieve this style, make sure that the hair is oiled and hydrated.  For this hairstyle, I used the Naturaz Styling Moisturizer and the Naturaz Rehydrating Mist and Detangler.  I used a non-heat method of stretching the hair (I prefer non-heat hair styles especially for children).  If you have to blow dry, use the low heat setting and stretch the hair with your hands.  Try not to use a comb to tug through coils.  It can get painful especially as the hair dries and the cuticle lifts.

Afro puffs are one of my easiest and favorite styles.  They are so easy to do plus you don’t have to have perfectly combed hair. Just get a soft bristled brush and great detangler and before you know it, your child will think she’s the cutest thing around!

For some more ideas see the Naturaz Hair video on 5 Easy Kids Natural Hair Styles for School. My daughter has the tightest curl ever and hair that has a tendency to really be dry and break. I have been able to harness her hair through some of the techniques I’ve shared in this and other blogs. The pictures I hope tell it all. She absolutely accepts and loves her hair and I can’t imagine it any other way.
